Why a Pseudonym?

AA's Eleventh Tradition suggests that members should maintain anonymity at the public level (radio, television, movies, and the printed word) regarding their membership.  Hence, neither my true name nor an identifying picture are attached to this book.  In AA, it is felt that members should put principles before personal ambition or desire for fame.  In this way each member can be a guardian of AA's welfare.  However, there are no restrictions in the traditions in identifying one's self as an alcoholic to any individual or small group.  Therefore, anyone who wishes to discuss the ideas in this book can contact me through the publisher.
